Matthias Rosenberger veranstaltet
vom 24.-26. November 2006 an der TU Chemnitz eine Tagung über
Anwendungen der Personal Construct-Psychologie im Kontext von
Organisation und Management. Die Konferenz findet in englischer Sprache

Kelly`s theory, its methods and their derivatives possess a
privileged
position in the international scientific discourse. The PCP Community
is characterised in particular by the fact that very different topics
are treated in more or less independent circles. They are focussed on
primarily theoretical and methodical challenges of individual clinical
diagnostics and related areas. Today, four conferences are the
platforms for information exchange and social networking:: European
Personal Construct Association (EPCA), Australasian Conference on
Personal Construct Psychology (APCG), Biennial Conference of the (North
American) Constructivist Psychology Network (CPN) and the International
Congress on Personal Construct Psychology. Meanwhile questions and
solutions are presented, which use Kelly's theory and/or Repertory Grid
methods in other application fields, for instance the PCP in Arts with
an own discussion platform: (http://www.arts-con.net/main.html).
Unfortunately
such a platform for the exchange of interested scientists in the
organizational context does not exist. Still we believe that there is a
sufficiently large subgroup within the PCP Community, which would be
happy to discuss possibilities and limits of the usability of Kelly's
theory and method in this field with other colleagues. Questions
(Requirements) we actually see are:
- Which
fields of application are obvious (e.g. Organizational Development, HR
Development, Marketing, Coaching, Project Evaluation)?
- Which advantages has the Grid in
opposite to other methods in Organizational research?
- What kind of arguments exists or can
be formulated to advance the Grid in progress?
- (In)Possibilities of
Multi-Grid-Analysis (methodology, statistic, mathematics)
We
want to start an international discourse with its own social arena for
questions about validating of Repertory Grid methods and Personal
Construct Theory in organizations and management. One particularly
important topic is the Multi-Grid-analysis and how to apply it on
groups, departments or whole organizations.
The
Chemnitzer conference "Requirements and Solutions for PCP in the
Organizational and Managerial Context" offers an open space to
scientists and practitioners in order to face the challenges of PCP in
the organizational context. Therefore, the conference will offer two
tracks:
- Science
forum "Business Application from PCP":, a platform exclusively focussed
on opportunities and limits of PCP in the context of management and
organization
- User forum "Practical
Challenges to PCP": a platform for discussion on the application
possibilities of PCP in organisation and management context.
We are looking forward to receiving
interesting papers. |
