Abstract
This paper provides an overview of the more recent developments in
experiential personal construct psychotherapy. After briefly reviewing
the foundations of the approach, I will dis-cuss recent developments in
diagnosis, optimal functioning, the use of the therapy relationship to
further the process of growth, the role of the body as a repository of
meaning making, structural arrests, levels of awareness and the use of
symbols to entrap as well as to free per-sons. I will use clinical vignettes
to illustrate the issues raised.
